Currently Under Construction

The history fair is YOUR opportunity to learn about specific events in history through a project-based learning approach.  This project is based upon the Texas Educational Standards (The provisions of this §113.48 adopted to be effective August 23, 2010, 35 TexReg 7232).

What does that mean??? Well, we give you a THEME and you choose a historical topic to research and present to others.

You will be guided through the process of doing both primary (first-hand) and secondary (third-party information) research.  Your work will be presented through your choice of written papers, websites, exhibits, performances or documentaries.

You will develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, research and reading skills, written and presentation skills, self-esteem and confidence and a sense of responsibility.

You are REQUIRED to participate in the history fair competitions which might involve time commitments outside of the CISD academic calendar.  8th grade students have the opportunity to earn High School credit if the quality of your project meets the guidelines of the Independent Study Mentorship Program (register for the ISM class if you are interested in this option).

This site will take you step-by-step through the requirements of the history fair and will provide all the research tools you will need to complete your history fair project.

Are you ready to get started??
